The late Kobe Bryant, even after his death, has been a true inspiration as he left his basketball fans and the whole world in general with his mantra: be better everyday – MAMBA Mentality as what they call it. Apart from being an icon in the field of basketball, he has been a true inspiration to both athletes and non-athletes on how a competitive spirit brings you closer to your goal.
During his 2017 retirement speech, he left a striking statement that left an imprint to everyone in the arena even those who’ve witnessed him online:
“Those times when you get up early and you work hard, those times when you stay up late and you work hard, those times when you don’t feel like working, you’re too tired, you don’t want to push yourself, but you do it anyway. That is actually the dream. That’s the dream. It’s not the destination, it’s the journey.”

Indeed, no one starts off as great. It doesn’t happen in one snap. If you want to be unstoppable in your field, then choose to be 1% better every day or even more. We must never be afraid of making mistakes so long as we learn through continuous improvement. If there’s one thing we must avoid – making the same mistake twice. We get better if we choose to rise above the challenges that come across.
